His multi-award winning fashion-inspired short film ‘Cusp’ [Best New Director, International Filmmaker Festival 2015] announced his arrival into fiction and is currently in development as a TV-series.
Since 2008, Oliver has shot for many fashion, beauty and sportswear brands including Nike, Swarovski, Tommy Hilfiger and Giorgio Armani, directing both beautiful fashion films and engaging documentaries, and often blurring the line between the two.
Originally trained as a documentarian in 2000, Oliver’s first broadcast documentary, the provocative social doc ‘Fag Hags’, aired the following year on British network television.
His fashion and brand work has taken him around the world, whilst his documentary films have led him to shoot in many remote, beautiful locations including the Sinai desert, the Australian outback and the wilds of Mozambique.
He truly excels at concepting innovative ideas on emerging platforms and, don’t tell the film purists, but shooting vertical video is his guilty pleasure.
Oliver has a fascination with technology and loves playing with not only the latest kit, but delving into the tech-archive, and has very much enjoyed the recent VHS-trend.
With a desire to bring his talent for screenwriting and fiction directing to his commercial work, Oliver is eager to create branded fiction for fashion brands.
Oliver splits his time between New York and London.
